Tagnautica

Tagnautica is an extremely good-looking Flickr tag browser. First, the site contains little more than a white “Click here” message. Click on it to enter any keyword, like “google.” You are then presented with a circle of images, which will load one after another in the background. You can now move your cursor over individual images to zoom into this part of the tag alphabet (like “googleearth”, “googlemap”, “googlemaps”).

The author of this tool, Mario Klingemann from Munich, created other interesting experiments as well... including Flickeur, which will create a moody slide-show out of random Flickr images (turn on your speakers for that one, and ideally wait until it’s dark outside...).

[Tip o’ the hat to Information Aesthetics.]
