Google Mini Maps

The Google Maps API now allows for Mini Maps. They can be expanded and collapsed – note the arrow in the bottom right of the mini map – and be used (for one thing) to better navigate a larger zoomed-in map.

(It’s funny to see how often Google features are not announced, but found by developers snooping around in the source code – this time, hitting on a thing called “GOverviewMapControl.”)

[Thanks Andrew Hitchcock.]
