Google’s New Chinese Name

Ken Wong informs us that Google now has a new official Chinese name, announced by Eric Schmidt at a conference in Beijing:

Above is pronounced like “Google” or “Guge.” If you would translate the Chinese characters literally you end up with something like “corn song” or “valley song.” Ken says, “I don’t really like this name.”

A search for these Chinese characters returns 548 results at the moment. I suppose this number will quickly increase...
