Make Your Keyboard Cat-safe

My keyboard is only caps-lock safe...

PawSense cat-proofs your computer:

When cats walk or climb on your keyboard, they can enter random commands and data, damage your files, and even crash your computer. This can happen whether you are near the computer or have suddenly been called away from it.

PawSense is a software utility that helps protect your computer from cats. It quickly detects and blocks cat typing, and also helps train your cat to stay off the computer keyboard.

Mazda Earth Search

Mazda created an ad campaign/ game (with a chance for you to win a Mazda CX-7) that takes place on Google Earth. You are supposed to “Follow the clues. Search the globe. Enter to win.” [Via Digg.]

Google Categories Experiment

The Google OS blog reports on a new search results design experiment (see screenshot). Instead of a site’s sub-categories being laid out next to each other, they’re given more space as part of a list, and their URLs also show. (Ignore the “try your search on” above the top result in that screenshot; it’s generated by a Firefox extension.) [Via Barry.]

Yahoo Says They’re Unaware of Jailed Dissident Case

Forbes reports:

“Yahoo said it is unaware of the case of cyber-activist Wang Xiaoning, who a human rights group alleges was imprisoned by the Chinese government with Yahoo’s help.

’We are unaware of this case,’ said Yahoo spokesperson Mary Osako in a statement.

’We condemn punishment of any activity internationally recognized as free expression, whether that punishment takes place in China or anywhere else in the world.’”

Ordering the Technorati 100 by Page Count

I used the Google “site:” operator to calculate the page count for every URL in the Technorati Top 100, and then ordered it in a new top 100.
