Phishing for Gmail Users

According to Vnunet, a current phishing campaign is targeting Gmail users specifically. First, “lucky” Gmail users will get an email like the following:

You won $500! Gmail congratulates you! ...

Gmail gives members random cash prizes. Today, your account is randomly selected as the one of 12 top winners accounts who will get cash prizes from us. Please click the link below and follow instructions on our web site.

After trying to cash-in the prize, some kind of error message will tell the user that there are problems processing the transaction... users are then urged to pay for a $8.60 membership fee. But maybe 8 bucks is not that expensive for learning a lesson?
