How to Disable Google Personalized Search

If you find the “personalized search” feature of Google as annoying as I do, you can turn it off permanently at this page (note that this gets rids of your search history as well). If you ever want to turn it back on, there’s a page for that as well. Google describes this (old) feature as “an improvement to Google search that orders your search results based on what you’ve searched for in the past,” going on to say that you “may not notice much difference at first, but as you build up your search history, your personalized search results will continue to improve.” Still, I want to get the same results as others, and I also don’t want Google to be stuck in my past.

Update: Shortly after posting this, I can’t access that page anymore for some reason (maybe Google added a referrer check, or something else happened). Here’s what you can do instead: go to your Google Account page, then hit “Edit” next to services, then pick “Delete Personalized Search”. [Thanks everyone in the comments!]
