This was on digg a while ago – I believe the consensus was that the first time its fun, the second time its "eh" and the third time, its just a glorified <marquee> or <blink>.

Neat effect, but yeah, where's the use? I don't even like those Snap site-previews when you hover over a link, though those do convey some new information...
