Yahoo weather update just ended.
To add a final climax to the entire update – they have just debuted a new look at about midnight
Besides adding AJAX to the organic serps – they are now incorporating concept search suggestions to enhance the results |
now MSN / LIVE just debuted their new look
they have updated their design |
The search assistant feature is actually kind of cool. |
Still I like the experimental google seach better (right contextual search or something like that it was called).

I still prefer Ask 3d but I admit that I seldom use universal search at all, it's more an annoynace in most cases. I want to choose the medium I look for myself. If I google something I do not want to find videos, pdfs and new about that in most cases. |
Pfft! Ask 3D! go over to http://lh5.google.com/xuanjames/RhautxtntbI/AAAAAAAAABg/gR7maFX_1wo/s800/ask%20blogoscoped.JPG if you love them so much |
I for one would love to see a little more creativity in the search space. I was pleased to see Ask’s changes a few months ago, but a little disappointed they haven’t caught the public eye a little more. I’m curious whether any changes to web search at this point can have any impact on behavior. It’s funny a few days ago I posted on our blog about Yahoo! getting more click through on search results than Google.

There’s a lot of complicating factors to my very simply cut of the data but it’s still interesting to see things shifting around a bit.

<<I was pleased to see Ask’s changes a few months ago>> You mean a picture on the homepage? |
I'm quite impressed with Yahoo's new drop down suggestion tool. I think if I was a Yahoo user I'd find it pretty useful... Saying that I imagine it might get annoying. |
Sorry here is an updated link to the post i tried to link to above ... http://blog.compete.com/2007/09/26/search-queries-results-yahoo-google-msn-live/

Yahoo will be upgrading its system beginning on Thursday with technology--dubbed "DomainKeys"--designed to block phishing spam and other fraudulent e-mails that look like they come from eBay and PayPal but don't. The system works by verifying the domain of the sender of the e-mail, allowing ISPs to block messages they deem illegitimate.
