I have seen a link "Get faster Gmail" in red when you log into Gmail using IE 7. It links to http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?&answer=107906 which then prompts you to download the latest version of Firefox 3 or Chrome (there is also a link to IE 8 Beta at the very bottom).
The page says: "Browsers are getting faster and better at running web applications like Google Mail that use browser technology to its limits. In order to get the best experience possible and make Google Mail run an average of twice as fast, we suggest that you upgrade your browser to one of the fastest Google Mail supported browsers that work on Windows."
I suppose this link would appear whenever you're not using Firefox 3 or Chrome, e.g. Safari and Opera. |
I tried with Vista IE7 but didn't see the link... do you have a screenshot perhaps? |
well i didnt see it. using firefox 3 with vista. Oh, oh, oh... firefox... |
