Google added my location to google maps. on firefox 3.5 it uses the Geolocation API https://developer.mozilla.org/En/Using_geolocation on chrome it uses Gears the Googles Location Services which is more or less the same

If you've got Firefox 3.0 and Google Gears it will use the locational features in Gears instead. (Yeah, Ubuntu still hasn't got the 3.5 update)

My location is scarily accurate. I'm on wired broadband (so no wifi points for it to use), but it is only out by 15 meters!!

Mrrix32 you can perform an apt-get install firefox-3.5 but it sucks because you will have 2 firefox. So I still do not have Firefox 3.5 too :-/ |
