Um, no, that's not how it works.
It would be interesting to know the average number of YouTube videos watched per user per day though. |
[I wrote this while Roger posted the above ;-))]
Beyond impressive, but also pretty unbelievable. I wonder what percentage of hardcore YT viewers (however one defines them) stand for what average number of daily views; same for the USA + G8 countries + Scandinavia; and what percentage of views are of strictly administrivial type – say TV networks mechanically surfing the waves looking for own copyrighted material for http://google.com/search?q=DMCA -takedown notices.
Highly interesting infographic [unlinked by design] cdn.mashable.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/youtube-infographic-565.jpg mentions "1000+ http://youtube.com/t/contentid partners" for which YT scans well "over 100 YEARS of video EVERY DAY."
While we're at it, does anybody know of a cumulative Most Popular Primarily Non-music/ Non-sport (but viral) Videos Index page that could be recommended to elderly YT-virgins? |
I am wondering how much of these videos are watched outside Youtube.com (= embeded videos)... Any idea? |
TOMHTML – that's a metric YT undoubtedly knows down to number and kilobyte, but isn't telling. All it sez in the above-mentioned infographic is that "YT clients are embedded in 10s of millions of Websites". |
