If they are censoring, they are doing a clumsy job of it. |
It could be a programming flaw or an intent to take a stance against SEO contests and monitoring – consuming their resources...
If like Google this is a result of a programming flaw – this says much about sites dropping for keywords through no fault of their own.
The archive MSN results from a few days ago is still available on v7n forums for comparison...
Are there ever going to be hyperlink ability added for usernames to link to their sites on this blog? |
SEW – The V-E for charity site has screenshots of the GMY results for the first couple of days – see http://www.watching-paint-dry.com/v7ndotcom-elursrebmem/#results |
The Mystery has been solved – sort of......
Look closely at these Search Queries – they are technically different
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=v7ndotcom+elursrebmem
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=V7ndotcom+elursrebmem
:LOL MSN's Algos – really takes things literally sometimes?????

I posted an update, now both search variants show results.
Search Engines Web, I get results for both of your queries. Did you get different results depending on case? |
Would it be possible for Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. to censor this contest. It seems like their spiders would pick up the key words and phrases at a pretty high rate in the case of a popular contest. And it doesn't seem to be working well, either. |
That's ok. Algorithms try to do the so called "fuzzy" or "not exact" matching in case straightforward approach of ANDing all words yields zero results.
We do it in our russian search engine rambler.ru. Adding a word to a search query does not equal to using AND literally. |
I saw sites with "nofollow" link to the retrieved site showing up among Yahoo!'s backlink results months ago. |
Yahoo did officially support the rel="nofollow" attribute as exidenced here: http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/000069.html
