How about you have blank footers and headers in OO and then save it and convert it and then reinsert it in Microsoft word. You think that would help?

I would put in something about my Sitemapper, but I feel wrong doing that. Though if someone likes it they could always put it in there. :)

Here are the technical details on the problem (I just sent this to Iolaire):

What I see in OpenOffice looks fine, but when I export to PDF to upload at Lulu.com, Lulu.com will tell me "symbol font missing" or so. And when I take the alternative route and upload the DOC (or open the DOC in MS Word) I can see strange characters on the page numbering.

Furthermore I cannot access the "View page footer/ headers" in MS Word (it's ghosted).
