Your organization's Internet use policy restricts access to this web page at this time. Reason: The Websense category "Malicious Web Sites" is filtered. ----------------------------------- URL: www.google.vc/

Visited the site and view the source codes, I don't find anything wrong. How can this site categorised as "Malicious Web site"? Really confusing... |
I couldn't reach the site myself anymore but it's good to hear it doesn't seem to contain any naste browser exploits. |
I think this "Malicious Web Sites" warning is displayed just because users might think it's official Google site. Yeah, it writes that it is not, but most users get all www.google.xx sites as Official Google Sites and if google.vc asked ex. for Gmail password in the feature most user would give it. But I believe this site can't do any harm now. Search terms goes directly do the google.com servers, google.vc don't even see them. The strange think is that google.vc tries to set cookie for google.com domain, but I believe someone just copied ant pasted too much JavaScript from Gmail's login site. |
Sorry I can not back up why it is a "Malicious Web Sites". I just found it interesting, especially since right now my work is in general not blocking sites. |
Filtering software probably tags it as malicious because .vc seems more like an unrecognized file extension than a top-level domain. I've never seen a vc url before myself. |
i like the little thing that pops up all the icons. looks MAC-y to me, am i right? |
Yea, this is "Google X". Google had to delete this from servers because of Apple's protests. http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2005-03-16-n89.html http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2005-03-16.html#n88 |

According to an email I received from the creator of Google.vc, WebSense agreed to remove the Google.vc site from their list of malicious websites. |
