> I didn´t like the G logo...

I also didn't like the logo much – it was something made in Paint Shop Pro 4 due to Corel PhotoPaint which kept on crashing, so I had to reinstall it. A new illustration is up now!

Man I need to get on the ball... Thnx for some great ideas. I'm currently unemployed and pretty friggin lazy, so I think I will start doing some of this stuff, maybe more. I already sell ripped off MPEG4 DVD Screeners/Telesyncs and porno to schoolchildren, this is legal and sounds profitble. Man preteens and some teens will pay ten bucks for a porn on DVD, something which costs me 35 cents + electricity to make. Also they want marijuana and cocaine, so thats good money too :D

>Tell the Chinese gov’t that website xyz.com (replace “xyz” with your competitor’s website) is doing some “really nasty human rights stuff.” Watch see the site be censored on Google.cn in approximately two weeks.

This works quite well in China.
Actually,Baidu is very good at it.

Or you can make friend with a google employee and pay them a large retainer and then 60% cut to put your totally non relevant affiliate website on top for millions of search terms – but not enough to arouse any attention.

kanetix.com is an example of a google insider getting top rank (#1 or first page) for ALL city based searches for car insur[put at-character here]nce and auto insur[put at-character here]nce. This site is an affiliate of another company.

Give it a try (need to update insur[put at-character here]nce spelling):

nce&btnG=Google+Search" rel="nofollow" style="display: inline-block; max-width: 300px; overflow: hidden">http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Casper+car+insur[put at-character here]nce&btnG=Google+Search

nce" rel="nofollow" style="display: inline-block; max-width: 300px; overflow: hidden">http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=rockport+car+insur[put at-character here]nce

nce&btnG=Search" rel="nofollow" style="display: inline-block; max-width: 300px; overflow: hidden">http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Alachua+car+insur[put at-character here]nce&btnG=Search

nce&btnG=Search" rel="nofollow" style="display: inline-block; max-width: 300px; overflow: hidden">http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Bayshore+car+insur[put at-character here]nce&btnG=Search

and on and on..... for every state – all with a generic fluff page with NO revelant copy except recycled text with city and state replaced.

There are other sites that suspiciously rank on top for all broad generic searches across the same market – and none have any unique content to justify it.

So people with money don't need to spam, just pay off some google developer to set them up.

Haha – funny article.

However I think G would "ban" your pages and blogs pretty quickly – because of identical content (taken from wikipedia etc.) G does not like identical pages, and the higher ranking site (which will be wikipedia, BBC etc.) gets the credit – while the other pages gets the lowest ranking possible. (= low search position).

It is quite noticeable though, that some sites seems to succeed in this strategy, however I think that the success is subject to an already high ranking site.

Umm, "bob billy bob," you aren't serious, right? Ever heard of SEO? How do you know that it was an inside job? And just how many innovative auto insur[put at-character here]nce websites do you think there are? Also, you obviously didn't search hard enough, because several cities, such as "Delhi," "Shanghai," and "Cape Town" all yeilded pages with no "kanetix" on them. Granted, these are all cities outside the US, but if this was a simple hack to put "kanetix" on every first page when searching for " *** auto insur[put at-character here]nce," then any search with a word before "auto insur[put at-character here]nce" should return with a page with "kanetix." Think a bit before leaping to accuse Google, please.

NOTE: The "[put at-character here]" replaces "a" is because "insur[put at-character here]ance" is blacklisted. Just in case anyone didn't know.

Nah, duplicate content is easy to avoid – making the first paragraph and meta tag unique usually does the trick.

So when you scrape the wiki, just add a sentence at the top saying something like...

[TOPIC NAME] is an informative topic on [SPAMMY SITE NAME]. Read all about [TOPIC NAME] and [CATEGORY NAME] on [SPAMMY SITE NAME], your source of [TOPIC NAME].

That should just about do it.

I am struggling already with step 1: How would G register my eMail at ...[put at-character here]blogger.com? Because i could not receive eMails on blogger, i can not confirm it... pls help me!

Tadeusz Szewczyk [PersonRank 10]

Change the topic to "How to get rich quick with Google". I recommend this also for the next book title of yours. In fact most of that works fine for seach engine spammers whereas ethical SEO like I do is hard work and at the end of the day you get delisted anyways along with some spammers that get punished.

Unfortunately I am not ruthless enough. Maybe when I go bankrupt after Google makes ethical SEO not work anymore...

I am not sure this still works, but the sad thing is, point #1 – as many others on the list – have been spotted in the wild before. I actually saw a blog years ago that subscribed to Google News for lots of keywords and then automatically stuffed this content into his Blogspot blog via Bloggers blog-by-mail functionality (I tested the blog-by-mail functionality too, it used to definitely work, possibly only for pro-users – you're basically given a semi-private email along the lines of username-password[put at-character here]blogger?.com). The funny thing about this particular spam blog was that as every Google News alert includes an unsubscribe link, I simply went through this spammer's blog and unsubscribed him from a whole lot of alerts :)

> I am not sure this still works...

It still works for all users. It's called the "Mail-to-Blogger" address under Settings > Email in Blogger. The email address is of the format: username.[user-defined-secret-word][put at-character here]blogger.com

(BTW, neat trick on unsubscribing the spammer – that's clever thinking!)

Just tried to set up a a spam blog as explained in your post and I found out that blogger has a mechanism to detect and deactivate such blogs. That's where my multi-million dream ended ;-)

After five posts from google alert to my Mail-to-Blogger secret email address, the new posts were no published but stored as drafts so they required human approval.

Anyway, good post. Luckily there are some mechanisms to avoid a total pollution of the internet.

btw: in the mean time I have deleted my spam blog!
