Account Authentication Proxy for Web-based Applications has been released... it gives access to information associated with your Google account to third party sites
When the user logs into the site in question, they are then asked to authorize the website that is requesting this information.

Do you know any sites that are/are planning to use this? It could be interesting to see how it is used. |
This is an important point:
"If a website wants access to more than one service associated with a Google user (like Google Calendar, GMail, etc), the website must request separate tokens for each service. The level of access granted is dependant on the Google service in question. Some services may limit access to certain types of data." |
In reference to my last comment, Google mentions they are considering doing single sign-on, as they know the development community wants it.
It looks like this service requires a lot of technical knowledge. If you want to register your web application, you have to send them a 1024-bit RSA key encoded in an X.509 certificate in PEM format. It will be interesting to see what kind of new applications come out of this though. My thought is if it's possible to do some kind of Google Calendar and Google Maps mash-up, it would be very interesting. |
I think the best is to create one SINGLE log in to Google Accounts development community and one for User's community that includes all google services, adwords analytics adsense gail calendar spreadsheets, sketchup Gtalk... GBuy |
this link does not exist or or is the group deleted ??

However, API documents points there for discussions!! |
Does GData mean all their serivices ??
"This parameter is required when accessing GData services" |
From the wording is seems that Gdata encompasses all the google services that hold data, ie calendar, gmail, picasa web albums, etc.. |
/pd >>> they do a mistake "google.COMG/groups"... |
yeah .. Now i see that!!
Good eyes Tom :)-: |
So what services can you access with this? It looks like Calendar can be accessed, but in the setup instructions they keep saying to connect to "a Google Service." Is there a single place where they list the services that you can use with this authorization tool? |
