1) If you are looking for published patent apps (before they are or are not) awarded. That database is not part of today's Google release. It's available here in the box with the yellow header.

2) If you are looking for patents and patent apps from more than 60 countries, take a look
espcenet
ep.espacenet.com/
The interface is also available in several languages.

You can also use Google to search for US Apps, select foreign publications, and non patent prior art via a Google Co-op search engine named PatentScourge. www.patentscourge
