It's really awesome :) |
Could you post a screenshot of Windows Live Maps, that service somehow doesn´t work to me. |
hey they also have a new button that is "traffic" – I have not seen that before ..hope they roll this out for mymaps..!! |
The button traffic appears only when you are on an area covered by traffics datas ;-) Since February |
<<Could you post a screenshot of Windows Live Maps, that service somehow doesn´t work to me.>> Garett Rogers called it "bordering on unusable", so don't even try. :) (Really slow for me, btw) http://blogs.zdnet.com/Google/?p=536
King Kong on Empire Building! http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&om=1&z=19&ll=40.749261,-73.985764&spn=0.000969,0.001824&msid=112255436550398488662.00000111e664d3fe8fada&msa=0 |
BTW, in Tokyo, 3D-Buildings are colored! |
Do you have a link and screenshot Tom? Can't seem to reproduce it here... |
This is pretty sweet. Other US cities that have this feature are: Chicago, IL San Francisco, CA Denver, CO Seattle, WA Boston, MA |
Buildings in Tokyo have been 2.5D for a while. There are a couple of differences though: - some of them are colored (cfr. supra): e.g. hotels are green - there's no shine-through - less details (just contours and blocks) see e.g. Docomo Tower on http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=35.684392,139.703267&z=20 and compare it with the satellite image. |
<<This is pretty sweet. Other US cities that have this feature are:>> Ogle Earth have counted 38 US cities. |
That is quite beautiful and useful. |

click on the New York link in the article: http://maps.google.com/?q=New+York,+NY&ie=UTF8&z=18&ll=40.748562,-73.985608&spn=0.002824,0.004731&om=1 switch to Satellite and look at the bottom left corner
Do you see the two tall buildings seeming to "get attarcted towards each other" :-o
Its an old issue, but I thought Google would´ve fixed it by now!
