Really cool! Nice layout, and this could definitely work in a Yahoo Answers-esque line of work in the future. Great potential!
Thanks hebbet :D |
Sorry to double post, but I had to share this, In the "Popular Tips" section at the bottom of the page I saw this, by ttt in London
"Bills for your cleaner mounting up? Do not think you can save money on cleaning by getting yourself a wife – they are very expensive in the long run." |
There are bound to be lots of differing tips for different regions of the world. The screenshot is a good example. Where I'm from, admission coupons are rarely heard of, let alone "everywhere". This should be localized in some form or another. |
It's amazing how Appspot, while being developed by the biggest search engine, fails to use search engine (and human) friendly URLs. |
Philipp & @Marcin : these URL are used to pass data via JavaScript without loosing others. Look URL of websites like Facebook, Jiwa or Deezer: it's the same! Anyway, for the last one, all pages have a permalink, and yes it's bad Google Appspot doesn't have it. Anyway, is it a problem to index it? No, the bot (its mechanisms) has to fit to the content, not the contrary. |
Not impressed. Copycat of Google Moderator, only some colour and title changes. Doesn't work in all browsers like S60 WebKit. |
TOMHTML: Well, the URL matters for search engines as they try to guess whether a page is dynamic or static by some characteristics.
For example: http://example.com/table.php?table=blah&session=983279843729847 and http://example.com/table.php?table=blah&session=324245435435345
indicates that this is a dynamic page and the "session" parameter doesn't have significant effect on the contents.
It matters for humans too – try do dictate such Appspot URL over the phone, or type it in from printed copy.

[moved from "Google Tip Jar."]
The Tip jar is a brilliant idea to feed all the tips in to gmail , instead getting quotes from brainyquotes.com |
"wonder how this will display in search results where the last fragment may be removed"
I can't find it in the search results for [google tip jar]. |
