The word is "blog", i think. |
Yeah, that is pretty ballsy of them to display their logo in such a way. But I like it. |
Actually, the word is "Blog." The lone dot on the bottom (spot 6) at the beginning of the word stands for "capital letter follows." |
Oddly, my Personalized Homepage shows the Goog7e birthday logo instead... |
My personlized homepage shows Goog7e too....but if you roll over the logo it still says Happy Birthday Louis Braille! |
But whats means the single dot at the beginning of the word? I also wondered about a few more things at the SERPs. I am not an native English speaker, so look at http://blog.ottz.de/archiv/48/google-braille-logo/ for more details an images. |
As Brad said, the single dot at the beginning of the word indicates the following letter is a capital. I found a Braille key at

Thank you for the answer Stephen. On the website I visited there was no information about this single dot. |
Looks like Google has updated both their search results pages and personalized homepage to also display the Braille logo now (on the personalized homepage the filename of the logo is still 7th_birthday_results.gif). |
Did it take them several hours just to notice the search result logo is wrong?
Now, I'm also getting a different top result... |
Looks like it took them a while to notice and fix it, according to the post and comments on David Krane's (a Google employee) blog: http://www.kraneland.com/2006/01/dennis-hwang-genius.html#comments |
cant stand that logo. REALLY don't like it. and if I enable the customized logo module--it won't seem to overwrite it, either. Yeck. but a nice try. |
Helo Im Clari-ann Just call me Clare! ok? you know I do'nt understand what your title but I think that is Google or Braillle. Am I right? |
